About United In Love

United in Love was organized at the home of and under the leadership by Rev. Hosea Ivy on August 21, 1977, at 8258 So. Carpenter. The first members to join were his wife, Maureen Ivey, his son, Clifford Ivey, and his Sister, Olivia Mariner.

In 1978, the church moved to 651 West 69th Street, where the choir was organized under the directorship of Sis. Lillian Jackson.

On Easter Sunday 1982, the church moved to our present location at 7010 South Halsted Street. Deacon William Brown was the first chairman of the Deacon Board, and Sis. Lula Brown was the first president of the Usher Board.

On October 16, 1988, United in Love expanded from 7010 to include 7014 South Halsted Street.

On February 29, 2003, Pastor John W. Martin of Abundant Love Missionary Baptist Church, along with twenty- six members and three ministers, merged with United in Love.

Due to failing health, on December 30, 2007, Pastor Ivey appointed Rev. Elijah J. Wilson, Sr., to the position of Assistant Pastor. On June 9, 2008, at 5:45 a.m., the Lord called Pastor Hosea Ivey from labor to rest.

On June 28, 2008, Rev. Elijah J. Wilson, Sr., was unanimously selected as Pastor of United in Love Missionary Baptist Church.

In November 2011, Pastor Wilson resigned from United in Love.
