Pastor John W. Jeffries, Sr.

Our congregation comes together before God under the leadership of Pastor John W. Jeffries, Sr. A passionate speaker, a beacon of knowledge and a spiritual guide — we’re proud to call Pastor Jeffries our leader and a great example for all of our members. A gifted musician, Pastor Jeffries has led United In Love since August 2012.

Pastor Jeffries has been preaching the gospel since he answered his call in January 1982 under the leadership of the late distinguished pastor, Dr. L. R. Henry, II of the Mary Magdalene M.B. Church of Chicago, IL., who licensed and ordained him. For over 36 years, Rev. Jeffries served in the capacity of Minister of Music at Mary Magdalene in addition to assisting in the church ministry as Baptist Training Union Director, Sunday school teacher, Youth leader, and Associate Minister.

Pastor Jeffries is a 1976 graduate of Olive Harvey College, Chicago., IL, with an A.A.S. Degree in Civil Engineering.

Pastor Jeffries is also a 1993 graduate of Chicago Baptist Institute, Chicago., IL, with B.A. Theology.

As a retired General Manager of Aztec Materials Concrete of Chicago, IL, Pastor Jeffries utilized his skills in concrete production, along with a strong quality control background in the construction field.

Married to the lovely and energetic Special Education teacher, Irma for over 39 Years, they have five children, four boys and one girl, and six grandchildren, whom they simply adore.

As a strong advocate in the institution of the Church, with the Bible as its guide, Pastor Jeffries firmly believes that the Church must continue to do the will of God with a passion for people to grow in the knowledge of Christ within the community it serves.
